2007 Miss Union County: Emily Lepley

Emily Lepley of Mifflinburg was crowned Miss Union County 2007 on Tuesday night, August 7, at the Union County West End Fair's annual pageant. Lepley was chosen over 18 other contestants, the largest pool the event has ever seen.

The girls introduced themselves, talked about their interests and answered one or two questions about their involvement in school or community activities. Participants were judged on their stage presence, community and school activities and interests and their performance in a pre-pageant interview.

The ideal Miss Union County is someone who is good at public speaking and who would make a good county representative at parades and other events throughout the year.

Also honored were Erin Zerbe of Mifflinburg, who won the recently-added title of Miss Congeniality, and runner-up Brooke Lawton of Lewisburg.

Girls from Union County who are entering their senior year of high school are eligible to participate in the pageant. The judges, who are chosen from outside the county, evaluate the contestants using five specific criteria: poise, friendliness, appearance, speaking ability and self-expression.
